German Stint in Santiago, Chile
Students in Santiago Chile "We were able to offer Estudio Eficaz at the University of Santiago de Chile (USACH). We got a great auditorium to hold the seminar and for doing it the first time we had quite a good turn out. About 25 to 40 students were attending the two evenings. It was a lot of work, especially since we had to translate a lot of the materials, but serving students, loving them, helping them do well, is a joy. One of the things we hear too frequently while talking to "freshmen" students is that this is their second year in the University but they are repeating many of the first years courses. The difference between high school and University study finds many unprepared. On top of that the number of distractions and temptations also multiply with the freedom that this stage of life offers. So "Effective study" was a great help to the students.
As we expand to more campuses in Santiago, strategies like this seminar will allow us to help student leaders cast the net broadly on campus, be visible and serve students needs. The Chilean staff really likes this material from Europe and the vision is, to not only spread out to other campuses in Santiago and other cities in Chile, but to make the materials available to other countries in South America! May God use this material to bless the South American students and help to also spread the good news!"
There will be a seminar about "Effective study" at CM2007 in Pusan on July 1st.
There are also good News from Switzerland. Last week we had a talk about "depression" at the University of Zurich. More then 250 students came and heard, that Faith can help in situations like this. |
