Tampere, Finland
This autumn has been busy in Tampere, Finland. September 19th, a Wednesday evening, different Christian student organisations (including Agape Finland) joined forces to throw a BBQ party on the local university campus. The party was a big hit with music, drama and of course sausages. 200 university students came to eat, have fun and get information about Christian student activities. A blessed evening!
Agape Finland had its own student gathering the same week’s Friday. About 50 students came together to see performance art (about loneliness) and listen to a talk about child-like faith by Leena Lehtinen. At least one newcomer told that he had come to the evening through the BBQ party. After Leena’s talk it was possible to ask Jesus to come to your life. As a sign of this, people were encouraged to draw a heart on a piece of paper (used to collect prayer requests). At the end of the gathering, seven hearts were found. In Tampere, we are thrilled to see that God is at work and look forward to the rest of this term! |
